CREATIVE CLOTHES SWAPS
Clothes swaps are a fun and sustainable way to swap your wardrobe, for a fresh ‘new’ one without buying new clothes. I’ve expanded on this idea and all of my clothes swaps have a creative element so you can participate in a creative workshop while the swap is being set up and you also get to take home something you make!
How does it work?
You bring 10 pieces of clean, ironed clothing or accessories along to registration and check them in
These items are hung up / displayed in the “Swap Shop” and you get to attend a creative workshop while you wait, or grab a drink and a chat with some friends
Approximately 1 hour after everyone has registered, the “Swap Shop” opens and you can go in and choose 10 “new” items to take home with you.
FAQ’s
What type of items can I bring?
Our event page will always include detailed information but generally clean, ironed clothes that have been gently worn and accessories such as bags, scarves, necklaces, bangles etc.
What if I don’t have 10 pieces?
The swap will only work if everyone brings 10 pieces. This ensures that the range of items is big enough for everyone to enjoy. If you want to come with a friend, you can split your items e.g. they can bring 13 if you only have 7 pieces
What if I have MORE than 10 pieces?
If you are looking to ‘Marie Kondo’ your closet, that is great! Just be aware that you will only be able to take 10 pieces home with you. You are welcome to bring more than 10 pieces and all remaining clothes on the day, will be donated (same day) to a participating Op Shop.
What if I don’t find 10 pieces?
This experience is similar to any shopping, or op shopping treasure hunt. The thrill is in the unknown so you may not find 10 pieces but you may just come home with one amazing piece that you have consciously chosen, and will wear often!
